Floating Orchard’s Enterprise Software Update (ESU) products are designed to facilitate Apple Software Update for any version of macOS maintained by Apple.

They are compatible with any mass deployment tool, whether using MDM Edition (ESUMDM) with an existing MDM/UEM solution, or PKG Edition (ESUPKG) for simple deployments. The articles below include technical guidance and best practices for the best possible outcomes.

FAQs

  • Enterprise Software Update MDM Edition (ESUMDM) is designed to deploy via any MDM capable of managing macOS. It does require an MDM for configurability.

    Enterprise Software Update PKG Edition (ESUPKG) does not require an MDM solution.

  • Enterprise Software Update products currently support up to macOS 15 (Sequoia). We expect to support macOS 26 (Tahoe) in early 2026.
